Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. – Psalm 100:4-5
A Time of Thanksgiving and Praise
Our annual Harvest Service this year was held on Monday, 24 September at 7pm. We had an excellent gathering and were blessed to hear from guest speaker Andrew Davies from Cwmbran.
Andrew directed our attention to Psalm 8 wherein David praised God for who He is and what He has done for mankind. Despite a difficult year in harvesting, we were reminded to thank the Lord of the Harvest for all He has done for us. Perhaps you would like to take time to reflect on this powerful passage in Scripture:
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! – Psalm 8
We also enjoyed special music provided by Paul Sweeting along with his wife’s accompaniment. All who attended our service also enjoyed a cup of tea and a biscuit following the services.
If you missed out on this service, we would encourage you to join us for any of our regular services or upcoming events. Visit our services page to find out more.
