You are warmly welcomed to join us on Wednesday evenings as we set aside a short time for prayer and Bible study together. We hope this gives you a little insight into what our midweek meetings are like.
When you enter our church on Wednesday, you will be offered a hymn book and a warm welcome. Our service normally opens with prayer and then we usually sing a single hymn that is chosen by someone in attendance. This is your chance to choose one of your favourite hymns; you are welcome to come early with a hymn in mind! Following that, the speaker for the evening usually spends a short time in the Word of God focussing on either a passage of Scripture, a Biblical character, or a topic of discussion applicable to Christians. Some of our past series have been:
- The life and ministry of Elijah
- 1 and 2 John
- Lessons from the Life of Joseph
- Changing Times: Unchanging Truth
- Check the “church news” in the right hand column for our current series
Following our Bible study, the speaker opens our prayer meeting and asks for any prayer requests or blessings that people would like to share. After requests have been recalled, we have a time of open prayer, where any who feel led to pray may pray publicly. You do not have to pray aloud, if you prefer to pray silently in your seat, you may do so. We believe that the Lord chooses to use prayer in the life of His church; and therefore consider this a very important part of our church’s ministry that all believers can be a part of.
The meeting normally last an hour. From time to time we have in special speakers and missionaries who will bring reports of the Lord’s unique working in their fields. Keep up to date with our latest services and events either in our “church news” on the right hand column or visit our services page to find out more.
