Olympic Bike – Coming to Mid Wales

Olympic Bike – Coming to Mid Wales

What Does it Take to Design an Olympic Bike?

Probably a lot of patience, time and expert engineering research.
This is exactly what University of Bristol’s professor Stuart Burgess had to use when helping to design Team GB’s 2016 track cycling bike, and thankfully all that research paid off in a very successful Olympic games for Team GB in Rio 2016.
Stuart Burgess’s revolutionary design not only caught the attention of our nation but was recognised by the Royal Society in last year’s Summer Science Exhibition – See the video below.
We are delighted to announce that Stuart Burgess will be coming, with a prototype of bike to Llandrindod Wells to talk about his designing work, but…
…that’s not all he will be discussing.

What Does Bike Design Teach About the Christian Faith?

Along with being an experienced university professor and researcher, Stuart is also a Christian and sees God’s design in everything he does.
Stuart will be sharing as part of his presentation how this revolutionary bike design impacted his Christian faith and how God’s design and God’s love are evident to all.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions, meet with Stuart and have a cup of tea. So do make plans to come along.
